Looking for help from Gun Nuter's that have experience in this sort of thing.

My South African trophy's have been at the Calgary Airport for several weeks now. CFIA has actually been pretty decent to deal with and today the veterinarian tells me she will " release" the trophy's to be shipped to the approved tannery here in Sask but I have to arrange to have them properly sealed first. It appears my crate will have to be re-crated inside a container with a 6mm plastic liner.

The trophy's are at Menzies Aviation and shipping and they do not provide such a service. They advised me to call Big Steel Box in Calgary and when I spoke to them they also do not provide this service.

Any recommendations??? I'm sure for every day my trophy's sit there the bill just keeps getting bigger.

Thanks guys. I had the trophy's ( Kudu, Impala and two Blesbok) treated by a taxidermist there and shipped here by a broker. They are in skull and dried hide form. I was expecting them to make it to my taxidermist but the crate was held by customs and then inspected by CFIA. Apparently I had the misfortune of having my trophy's arrive when CFIA and CBSA decide to start taking better measures of inspecting hunting trophy's.

There just has to be a better way then shipping my crate inside a 10 foot steel container lined with plastic.

I will certainly call Dale and see if he can help me out. Lesson learned, sort all of this out before going over next time.
