I just finished bedding a rifle.I know I puttied the stock bolt hole...but I don't remember doing the receiver bolt hole.I am not pulling apart the hour old bedding. If there is a bedding blob in the receiver bolt hole threads will it just break off when I pull the stock apart or should I suspect rubber mallet time.Any experiences?

It will probably just break off when you give it a whack then drill stock hole out once action is removed. I fill those holes by rolling up a foam earplug and then let it expand to fill the hole and poke it out after.

Did you have release agent on the screw threads? Any blobs pushed through will probably break off. If you are worried about the screw being bonded in place, wait until the compound has stiffened up, but not fully cured. Then make sure the screw will turn.

All is well, the putty was in place. One should not try working with epoxy after nightshifts.Or anything else where steps can't be missed in your process. Thanks guys RB
