I have a mannlicher schoenauer 30-06. On top of the barrel in front of the action reads

SEQUOIA 152

on top of the action:

Made In Austria
Patent
Mannlicher
Schoenauer
M1924

and on the side of the action,

Oesterr. Waffenfabr. -Ges.Steyr

Has double set triggers, three fold down leaf sights

Can anyone tell me anything about this rifle?

Thanks!

I have never seen the Sequoia 152 mark before, but your gun should be a 30-06 with a carbine length barrel( anything under 20") if its a true M1924 Man-Shoener model, made 1924 to WWII with limited production after this until Stoeger started importing the Model of 1950 . If it is a Stoeger import on the bottom of the magazine it will be stamped with there trademark, cheers Dale Z in T-Bay

Here is a good chart on model characteristics:

1899, I have ogled that page several times over the years...
Dale is a good source for information as well.
Pics of this rifle will be appreciated...and an asking price!;)

Hey guys, thanks for the replies. I have had this rifle for about 12 years, shot it a few times when I first aquired it. The stock had been badly (very badly) refinished, and was also badly cracked. The rest of the rifle is in decent shape. I did some research myself tonight, and it seems that this rifle was one of 1000 made and imported into North America in 1927. Apparently 500 were shipped back to Europe and remarked as 7.62x63. This makes this a pretty uncommon rifle I think. Over the years I've thought a lot about having it restocked. I plan to have this done this winter. I doubt it is a rifle I would ever use though, and have also thought about selling it as is. It might make a good project for someone.
