I picked up another Russian SKS locally in town here.
Says he needed rent money bad.
Kid bought it from our LGS. Which checks out, I also asked for his PAL just in case too.
Anyway he had some ammo he threw in. Just not sure what it is.
Kinda think it might be corrosive not sure.
Does anyone recognize them?

Top (BXN-71) is Czech surplus, bottom right (61-85) is Chinese surplus, bottom left looks like Chinese as well but I've never seen the 9121 headstamp or whatever that is.

Treat them all as corrosive and clean as if the are after shooting. I'm sure they are corrosive looking at the head stamps. If the head stamps were in the mid 90's or newer then they could be non corrosive.

Considering it's 70's and 80's surplus from combloc nations, yes, they would most likely be corrosive. The lot you listed definitely is.

I have some of the top Green cased ammo. Very nasty corrosive. I have had it for several years , but I try to use anything else but. LOL

All good info,
He gave me a bunch.
I'll just burn it off in one outing with my daughter, then give the rifle a good cleaning.
Already ordered some non corrosive.
Thx

Good work on your part making sure the rifle wasn't hot. was buddy that sketchy ? if so and not to sound negative . make sure he doesn't want it back in the future. as for the ammo flush the rifle with boiling water. barrel gas system etc.
