Hi all - Can anyone provide any info on what's inside this spam can? Obviously, it's 7.62x51 and FMJ, but I'd like to know country of origin, steel or brass cased, lead or steel core, how it is packaged, etc..

Any input is welcome, thanks in advance

I think it is Chinese. If so, it will be copper washed steel cased, Berdan primed.

Yup Chinese, theres a listing on GP for a can that looks exactly the same except packaged one day earlier.

yup, copper washed Norinco.....I think they are packed in paper 'bags' inside.

Looks like my Chinese Norinco copper washed steel case. Comes in 4 125 round paper sachets. Primers are kinda hard, but my T7 only had 2 or 3 failures to fire in 1000 rounds.

It smells funny when you shoot it… but in a good way…
It’s good stuff IMHO for plinking. Once upon a time, it was my preferred ammo for recreational shooting out to 600y with iron sited M14 rifles… Good times

FYI, at around -20 (or colder) the ammo will not properly cycle an M14… not that you can test that for yourself….
