My grandpa used to hunt with a Sauer, 12 gauge, SXS shotgun.

He bought it for what he said was 250-400 back in the day, but he isn't entirely sure.

I would like to know the model of it and how much they run for nowadays.

If anyone can help me out I'd appreciate it.

J.P. Sauer Made a fine shotgun and many different models. It would be tough to tell you the model of it without pic's or a discription. Prices for Sauer's can run from $600 on up to over $5000 depending on the model, features, and engraving.

You need to give more information, or a photo with clear closeups of any markings. With the information you gave , it is like asking: What year is my Chevy and how much is it worth? Definitely need a good picture or more on markings to be able to help.

Then you stated:

Give up worrying about this. You appear not to even know if it was a shotgun or a rifle... obviously you do not have enough information to find out what it was worth. Condition of a firearm affects the value greatly as well.

Oh give me a ####ing break there nancy. Rifle/shotgun whupdeedoo it was a typo. I've obviously stated it was a sxs 12 gauge sauer.

I'm just trying to find out the model number of the firearm/value today to see if I could get another one.

You don't know if the firearm "was" a rifle or a shotgun. And you want us to give you the model # and value. Are you sure it was even a Sauer? :bangHead:

J.P. Sauer & Sohn ... s#@t*- loads of two particular models were very popular here ... the Model 60 SxS and "Royal" Model SxS ... both were
available in 12 & 20, the Royal in 16 as well.

The 12 ga. Model 60 (Double Triggers/Extractors only) in good condition
is worth maybe $500 - $700

The 12 gauge Royal (usually SST/Ejectors) in good condition maybe
$ 750 - $ 1000.

The higher grade guns like the Artemis, 380, F-40, F-45 & F-60 in good
condition range from about $ 3,000 up to the price of a new Chevy Cavalier.

Hope this gives you something to start with. :D

Like all guns, condition is everything, and without some specifics ... well ???
