Little background I bought this Win. 70 30-06 with a threaded barrel from Intersurplus coming from Sweden I expected metric threads the threads are 1.0 outside thread diameter is .553 or 14mm does this translate to 14x1 ? I believe it is LH thread, looking for something to put on there besides electrical tape.

M14x1.0 is common for a Scandi threaded barrel.

Are you sure it is left hand thread? My M96/38 has right hand threads, however, they do make a LH thread protector as well.

If it is RH I got mine at Numrich http s://www.gunpartscorp.com/products/15230

That’s not how it works, or your eyes are really bad The picture you posted is of right hand threads.

It’s a rifle barrel not a vehicle from the 60’s

I'm not going to argue about my eyesight 15 years ago I could read the writing on a dime now I need glasses to find one in my change,

shop class was 50 years ago the thread protectors come in LH or RH so RH it is

right hand it is to my old eyes, but they still work quite good, had them done 20 years ago or so.
hearing is a different game thou. the louder she yells, the less I hear.:HR:

Holding the thread gauge steady and turning the barrel will quickly determine if it a left hand thread or a right hand thread.

New question does Tikka use 14x1 RH or LH threads for the muzzle brake?

I see some brakes for sale at Bullseye doesn't say left or right after extensive googling some sellers Brownells say LH others say RH ?
