So, my brother and I found this hunting a few weeks ago, anyone have any thoughts on what it is?

I don't believe moose are resident to this area, SW Ontario. If they are, I have never seen one.

I was thinking along the lines of some type of raptor, if it is indeed a skull, it may be consistent with the size of a full grown eagle. I'm really just guessing though

to big for a hawk or eagle. the one looks more like a pelvis than a skull. and im guessing it might be from a dog or something simmilar.

the one on the left looks like a chest from a dog. the right looks like a pelvis.

It's not semantics it's a bone !

You called it a fossil, but to me, it sure looks like bone.

If you go back to your link Onagoth whats at issue here is " from a former geologic period" and this one is clearly from this geologic period. I'm with H4831 on this one. It's a bone, looks like a pelvis to me.

Part of a breast plate and back of a ?? Cannot really tell size from the pics.... so goose? Turkey? The keeled breast bone and fused backed vertebrae (visible from the bottom) makes it a bird of some sort.

Measurements of length and width would narrow it down.

I think you discovered a "fossilized" Meleagris gallopavo.Wow.:p
