Help identify this helmet. SS double decal.

Recently picked this up. It was a German helmet that had been spray painted. Holding it up to the light I could see a decal of a swastika on one side.

I did a small spot test on the inside of the helmet and found that brake cleaner wouldn’t damage the base paint(likely enamel).

With slowly the spray paint wiped away and exposed the first decal and then another.

I had expected to find an iron eagle and was presented with an SS.

Any help identifying this would be appreciated.

I’m unsure if the name and # on the inside is relevant. But it would be neat to know some history.

Steel. It’s magnetic.

Appears to be a parade helmet as opposed to a combat helmet, not sure on the decals though

Looks like a standard German Police helmet with fake SS decals added.

I think they are enamel. Thinners don’t appear to touch them.

The only example I’ve found of a double decal SS 34 is a koenisberg concentration camp guard. Gettysburg museum had it and I’ve emailed them about it.
