Help identify this helmet

My dad bought this helmet from SOS Surplus in Edmonton in the early 70's. They told him it was a Canadian Paratroopers helmet. Any idea on value would be helpful.

The markings I can find on the shell are CL/C L 1944 and on the insert 45 BS (inside a circle) 7-3/4

If so it is a Mark 1 Canadian/British dispatch rider helmet.. looks similar to a paratrooper helmet but was worn by dispatch riders on motorcycles
