Help identify this sling

Hi every one

I recently bought this sling with a batch of assorted firearm stuff.
The guy who sold me the batch told me that he think it's a us military sling from WW2 but he was not sure.

There is no marking from a manufacturer, model or date anywhere.
The material is leather with brass hardware

Anyway if someone knows what it is & if it have any value let me know

Yep, 1907 sling. I use one for shooting, they work really well once you figure out how to attatch and use them. Fulton armory has good info on their use. Repro's are $30 from Marstar, original ones like that if it was in better shape would probably fetch $75 to $100.

Well guys I am no expert but I think these were used on garands as well. Not that it is a great source of information but I saw a few in the movie "Thin Red Line" and I also have a picture of a rack of Garands from my tour of Battleship Texas in Houston this spring.

Yessir. I'm a cheap bastard. They come dry as a bone and need to be oiled and stretched. I used mink oil with good results. There is a place in the US that sells top of the line repro's for around $50-$60US, I think it's called turner sadlery....?

The Turner sling is indeed a top-quality repro and is great. The maker is a retired USMC Gunnery Sergeant who is a master leatherworker. His National Match model is made with better leather and stitching than the originals. He also makes a special model of that one approved by the great USMC marksman and sniper Carlos Hathcock, and royalties from the sale of it go to Hathcock's family. I have one on my Garand and I'm putting QD swivels on another for my Rem 700 BDL rifles.The Gunny's website is www.turnersling.com. His products and service are tops, and he treats Canadians very well indeed.
 
1907 Sling

That's a 1907 sling all right. I have a few repros from Turner Sadlery.
If you would like some repros, I have extras still in the packaging that I don't need. Don't be using an original. Keep it oiled and put away.

Unless of course you want to sell it to me :)
