Simple Google-fu of the markings reveals the action MAY BE from a M38 6.5x55 Swedish Mauser, Husqvarna Vapenfabriks Aktiebolag 1941 (milled stripper clip opening and thumb groove) - definitely not born a civilian action. I would like to confirm this and possibly find out who the 'smith was.

Definitely someones labour of love. What kinda confuses me is the bolt. Not typical of a SM...side safety and the bolt appears heavily modified. The chambering is not defined anywhere on the barrel or action. A serial number has been properly engraved, timney trigger and glass bedded. Amazing shooter; got here of the EE

Looks a lot like one of the Swede sporters Tradex brought in...work was done in Sweden most likely, and those features are consistent.

Holy crap. That was fast...even the stock checkering is identical. Thank you.

It was modified by a company in Sweden. It carries better locking time, shorter striking stroke, new modified trigger and reshaped bolt shroud and cocking piece. They also modified the bolt - cocking piece assembly so it won't rotate when cocked, which was one of the complaints about the old swede action. Some were modified to ####-on-open.

Definitely a lot of smithing work went into these, much more then the $400-$500 they retail for at Tradex. I also like that they are not "one offs" so you know the work was consistent and professionally done.
If I didn't already have a pack '96 sporters I'd definitely add one of these to the pile.
