I need some help identifying a Mauser action.
The top of the action says:
WAFFENFABRIK MAUSER OBERNDORF A/N
The year is 19X0 - can't read the X because the hole for the scope base goes through it, but it really looks like a 0.
The serial number is preceded by O.G.
I was told that it is a 98K action, but as I'm not familiar with Mausers, I can't verify that. If the year of manufacture is indeed 1900, I think that it can't be a 98K because I thought they were all built later (could be wrong here).
Now, the action is on a custom target barrel (different caliber than any Mausers), and the bottom metal does not match. In addition, the bolt has been modified so I can't use any clues related to any of those parts to identify it.
Here are some pictures that will probably identify the type of action to those who are familiar with Mausers.
Any help would be appreciated!
