Help identifying this tang sight appreciated

[Ardent]

I pulled this tang sight off my Holland & Holland Rook Rifle, has an ultra fine patent date which I believe reads July 25 1905, no maker's mark that I can see yet. It's a superb sight, very high quality and finely made, and knowing nothing about it irks me.

You might want to check a Marbles sight catalogue or more likely a reproduction catalogue

There should be a letter or number on the bottom of the base. What is the holes distance center to center?
It is a Lyman No 52A Windguage Sight. The letter on the bottom of the base will determine what is was for.

Thanks a ton Road King, glad your eyes found my thread. It bears a 'P', which on look up indicates it was made for the "Stevens Ideal, Marksman, No. 414, No. 417, and No. 427 1/2."
