A friend owes me some money and gave me this old rifle.

Bore looks crisp, peeps are nice, shame it was sporterized. I have not shot it, know nothing about the rifle, but woud like to sell it as I am not into old bolt actions.

Has a blind magazine as well, looks like an old .303?

Any help in pricing would be appreciated.

Thanks

Enfield P14, the Brit's Mauser. I believe I can just make out ERA on the receiver, great marksman/sniper rifles from WWI era.

If you take the barreled action out of the stock it should have max chamber pressure, cartridge length and the cartridge its chambered for stamped on the side/underside of the barrel where it meets the receiver. More than likely a .303 as it still has original military sights, indicating an original barrel.

Sporterized in that shape, usually go for $200 - $250 on the EE. If it wasn't so close to Christmas I'd pick it up in a hearbeat

Head Space?? If it doesn't pass...JUNK

Junk? Hardly

99% of the time these things are good to go, I'd be willing to bet good money this one is fine, especially if the bore is in good shape.

On the off chance it doesn't pass headspace, part the rifle out. Parts for these old war horses are harder and harder to find and are becoming highly sought after. Hell, you might even make more money that way
