Hello,

I have this WW1 US holster and it is missing the top Brass webbing attachment. I would really like to find one to make it complete and original. I have been doing the ebay thing and nothing is coming up there. Does anyone know of a good parts source of dealer with any of these?

I know this might be considered fruitless but I really would like to make it look good again. So any help would be great.

Thanks,
Cam

Here are the pictures so that you know what I am talking about.

I have replaced the leather hanger and belt loop piece on the back of US .45 auto holsters before and can tell you it is not worth the effort. No one stocks that part as it was not something that was easily replaceable and it is cheaper to get another holster. I have made these parts then reattached them and it is a solid 8 hour job as the main holster seam has to be opened up, the part made and fitted, riveted and sewn and then the main holster seam restitched. I used to charge $25.00 for this repair job if you wanted a museum quality match but it is time consuming project. I hate to throw cold water on your hopes but this is a job that most leather workers won't do. Sorry, Joe

Hello,

Thanks for your reply.

There is a little bit of a slit in the top where I guess it was removed from. I think I will be able to just slip it right back in and have it sewn up.

I was also thinking that this part is not all that common but maybe I can scavange a really poor condition peice to get it.

Thanks anyways,
Cam

The brass ( and later steel ) hooks are not difficult to find and either would be correct for your holster project. Joe

This is what I have been having trouble with finding. So if anyone knows where some are, please let mw know.
