Help looking for holster for STI GP6 - is the same as Grand Power K100?

I have an STI GP6 in 9mm I use at the range occasionally. I had though of using it for IPSC Production Div at one time but I'm sticking with my .40 double stacks in Standard.

I purchased a Ghost type holster for the GP6 at the time but now I'm looking for something less of a race holster.

Of course STI no longer imports the GP6 and I understand the pistol is now manufactured as and imported as the Grand Power K100. Can anyone confirm this and if so, what are the differences between the different MKs of the K100? It looks like the newer models have interchangeable back straps but is there anything else on the pistol that would affect holster selection?

So I'm looking for a basic Fobus or Blade-Tek type holster that'll work with my GP6. Fobus has the VPQRP which is a paddle holster (handy for on/off at the range) and it lists it as comparable with the K100-MK12). I can't find anything in a Blade-Tek.

Any suggestions out there?

Thanks.

Comp-Tac makes good stuff. There are some differences in the slides & frame of the GP6 vs newer K-100s I don't know holsters are interchangeable. ANother option is Red Hill Tactical in the US - he makes K-100 stuff but may have a mold for the GP6 too.

Grand Power made the K100 and P1 for STI as the STI GP6 and STI GP5.

The biggest difference between the models (Mk6/Mk7/Mk12) at least as far as holster fit is concerned is the trigger guard width and taper. Current Mk12 guns have a wider trigger guard than the earlier models. If the holster relies on the trigger guard for tension/retention, some compromise may be required.

Robert at Red Hill Tactical makes fantastic gear. I strongly recommend his double layer holsters. If you tell him it's for a GP6, he will make sure the trigger guard spacer is thinner as required. (Or call me and ask.... )
