Okay, so I have an antler less tag for archery that came with a sticker. I also have the white tag for my controlled hunt. I went to the store to get a buck\controlled hunt tag and they told me they couldn't sell it to me because I already had a valid sticker on my card and I cant posses two licenses for one species. Does this mean I have to go to the MNR to get one or what is the deal?

John, The two white stickers/card 1/ Archery-Anterless and 2/ Controlled hunt -Antlered or Anterless are only indicating that you can use the seal (Deer Tag) you have on one of them hunts.

This does not mean you can get another Deer seal , that time has passed for surplus tags 5th of August for extra seals for Archery and October 15th for any Controlled hunt seals.

Most times these are posted at the Hunting Lodge Forum to keep members informed...

I only have one white sticker. The sticker that came with the antler less was the outdoors card sticker. The other one isn't a sticker but the piece of paper that comes to carry in your wallet.

Go to your ministry office they will sell you extra tags if they are available in your controlled hunt area. You can also get extra tags for archery if available in your area. These tags are does only in most areas.

the first tag you got was your deer lic but it also covers an antlerless deer in bow season if you put in for the draw it will say for antrless but your deer lice will cover a buck in ont in bow season .if you have not uesd this seal yet well bow hunting you can stick your gun tag on that seal and use it for your gun harvest wich your lic will say when and where .you can also drive to head office in your wmu and buy add tags in person for the controled hunt

Hi John....I think I see where you are coming from, so I'll give it a shot.

You are only allowed to shoot one deer, and in your case you can shoot a doe/buck in the archery season OR a deer in the controlled hunt...not both.

If you use your tag during archery, you can still hunt the controlled hunt to fill other guy's tags, but your tag will be filled allready.

So to sum up:

Your antlerless tag is valid for bow season, and can also be used dring the controlled hunt
The controlled hunt sticker you have is just permission to hunt in the controlled hunt, it is not a deer tag....if you used your one tag during archery, you are outta luck.

That said: It is possible that there may be extra tags available for your WMU, so call the serviceontario center nearest you and ask them.

Every year this same question comes up and I understand why but it is so hard to explain to people that are mixed up with it. I wish the MNR would change this sticker/seal crap so it can be understood easyier.

I think I will layout all my tags and take a pick of the stickers/seals and keep it so it can be understood by a photo... So I did ................

The first from the top is the seal you get when you by your tag (Lime Green) Re: Outdoors card
2nd - sticker/card allowing the top seal to be used for Bow hunting. You sent in for this:
3rd - an Extra Seal for Bow hunting only,
4th - sticker/card you get when you apply for a controlled hunt- this is used with the (Lime Green) seal at the Top. You apply for this :
5th- An Extra game seal for a controlled hunt that you applied for.

The extra tags in the picture had to be phoned in earlier, unless you hunt in an area that offers over the counter extra game seals.

Hope that helps
