Help me build a gopher only .22

Here are a few of my favorites.
Use to be just one, but one is a loney number, the number one.

This Browning T-Bone with the improved trigger I'd match with any CZ.... green camo one for those uninformed........ :D

Those of you who have never shot or checked the accuracy of one of those old Winchester Model 69 (A)'s, you have no idea
what fun you're missing.
Old world humour at incredible accuracy.

Don't be so quick to say that!
I hope the OP looks up savage btvs 22. Please check out

Great info on guns. The btvs is an awesome gun. If you don't believe me youtube (btvs long range)
400+ yds shots!

I won't disagree with you, because one of the most accurate 22 factory rifles EVER made was a $200 savage. It had a zinger of a barrel, when in a vice, shot the tiniest groups recorded by any 22. It happens. Not sure if you can google it or not.

Savages CAN be incredibly accurate, but to be honest CZ's are more consistently accurate across the line and better made, and in my opinion better value.

Quick question, the only local shop I can find the scout at is italian sporting goods where it's listed at $419.

Anyone know anywhere online or other local to Vancouver that has the scout at a better price?

And scout is better than the ruger american out of the box? I just like the fact I can use both 25 rd clips for the ruger in both guns.

yes the scout will be more accurate than the Ruger
i bought my now 10 year old son a Scout when he was 5 (i've always had great luck with CZs and their accuracy) i think his rifle may be the most accurate 22 I've owned.
it out shoots everything it comes up against in the non target rifle series of rifles

if your not into wood and dont buy into all the hype about the old names ill make a recommendation for ya.
now, remember that this is coming from a fella who grew up on a farm and has committed genocide on gophers for 4 decades, so i may not be the best at killing paper but killing gophers i can do.

anyways, if your wanting something a little more modern have a look at the Ruger American Rimfire.
then go to Cabela's and get one of their house brand scopes for it, Pine Ridge i believe is what they are called, they are by far the best glass for the money on the market, bar none, end of story, bring in the cows and put the cat out.

ive got a couple Cooey, a Savage and have had some CZ's and i picked up the new Ruger American.
its a solid gun and shoots great.

oh, if your wanting a CZ 'type' gun but dont wanna spend 400+ bucks then go to Canada Ammo (in BC) and order up one of those Norinco 533's (??) they are a CZ knock off and from what people are saying they are fantastic guns, and last time i checked they where $250.

ill step back now and let the CZ love fest continue.

the fact that the ruger takes the 10/22 mags makes it real attractive.

$419 for a scout is a good price. there is very little markup on the scout.. $60-$70 at most.

This is the scope http://scopesandammo.com/storefront...port-12x40-truplex-adjustable-objective-p-673 Canadian company this an a/o scope nice to have when shooting 22 and if i remember it goes down to 10 yds.

I think Jo Brooks also carries them. One of our sponsors here, been there well stocked store lots of 22 ammo to choose from.

Came with rings but they are 3/8" the scout is 11 mm. and as well they are really cheap rings that's why they are in the scope deal.I didn't like them so got others. They could be tolerated i guess? There are quite a few to choose from but that is another post idea. This one is about a scope and your first gun.. You could use the iron sights to start with and move up to a scope.Look at this post already 35 comments, you may have a birthday before this post dies.Hope we have all helped you to some extent.

If your building a 10/22 anyway, why not use that. Buy a cz 455 varmint 17 hmr to take along with you. Once you spent enough on the hmr ammo, switch over to your 10/22 and go nuts!
