so im putting it to you guys

remington 700 of some kind ..

or a saiga in 7.62x39 russian .

dont worry about application, or whats the better rifle or anything like that.
just your guys personal preference

But you have in effect stated what the application is, and for that, you should get the Saiga.

NZ is way better then Australia when it comes to gun laws. I remember things got bad down there after the Aramoana massacre, and this made it a lot more restrictive to own "military style semi-automatics" as the law calls them. But with proper endorsement and registration, they are still obtainable for responsible gun owners.

Australia on the other hand is much closer to the UK when it comes to restrictive firearm laws. For example, the SL8 rifle was "too extreme" for Australia so H&K gave them the R8 rifle. This was simply a bolt action SL8 rifle built for sport shooting. And unbelievably even the bolt action R8 was branded a threat to society by the Victorian government. They claimed this bolt action rifle could be converted to semi or even full auto and wanted it banned.

So back on topic, NZ is a great place for gun owners, Australia not so much.

they are both overpriced here so i cant get both unfortunately ! as much as my heart desires both, it aint happening.

and someone said NZ is a better place for gun owners.. we'll just say its a better place all round huh?

i know for a fact that when i get 1 im going to want the other ..
