help me choose a 18.5" M1A barrel

Looking to get a SEI barrel installed on a receiver. But it seems the barrel needs to be heat treated and fitted by them.

Is this possible? Shipping a Chinese reciver down to the U.S. to get fitted and shipped back up?

Also I just realized the SEI barrel I want is 18". I'll have to make due with a good 18.5" barrel that allows for the SEI 2013 gas lock and Votex flash hider.

So there lies the question. Where can one find a standard profile 18.5" barrel with 1-10 twist that will fit a SEI 2013 gas lock and gas system plus a Vortex flash hider?

I know the Chinese barrels won't fit these parts.

Krieger or Criterion? I'm pretty sure the SEI gas lock and (I'm assuming you want the direct connect) Vortex will fit on any barrel with USGI threads and the gas system will fit on any M14 pattern barrel.

Lrb makes 18.5" barrels in standard or med weight, and chrome lined or not. Wolverine can import one for you.

I'm leaning towards the Wolfe light/med 18.5" barrel. It's similar to the SEI 18" profile and weight which is what I'm wanting to replicate for my Mk14 mod 0 type SEI build.

And why import when Hirsch Precision (another fine site sponsor) usually has stock? Criterion, Kreiger, GI profile, medium and HB. Chrome and non-chrome lined...

Correct. They are criterion bbls, marked lrb. Last time I checked hirch didn't have 18.5" in stock... On 22's ( that would be cool if I was wrong tho)

They are currently out of 18.5". They have stock in 22".

They do however have more on order.
