Help me choose a 9mm.

From your list I'd pick the M9...smooth as silk, has some mass to it so absorbs recoil nicely and laser accurate. However, the CZ 75 (preB) is a tank. Mine is ugly as sin (to me) and has seen alot of abuse yet keeps on trucking without issue (NEVER had a FTF/FTE) and is still crazy accurate.

Personally I like the CZ Shadow. I thought about an M&P, but the mag disconnect safety is a problem, and the only models easily available in Canada without it -- the Julie Goloski and Pro editions -- are not much less than a Shadow.

For IPSC production, you'll need to drop the hammer and fire the first shot in double-action. If the former bothers you, either grab one of the special edition M&P's or get a pistol with decocker (CZ Tactical, SIG 226). If you'd rather fire in SA, look at an STI Spartan in 9mm, or a STI Trojan in 9mm. The latter is better w/FO sights, but a bit more expensive.

I just ordered a Beretta 92FS from Badger Arms Supply. I didn't have IPSC in mind; it just looked and felt great to hold. Now comes the waiting part.

Bob, if you're on the west coast get yourself over to DVC in Coquitlam and pay the money to try out a few different 9's. They've got a Shadow there for rental as well. But no 92fs or M9 at present.
