Help me choose a build length

Currently have a 14.5. Not against another. I don't want as short as 7.5 so I'm stuck on a 10.5 or a 16 or another 14.5. I have 200yd range. May in the future do 3 gun and also building one for wife. Maybe weight savings build her a short one and myself a 16. Not sure. Probably a strike eagle optic on a longer with cantilever irons or a red dot on a shorter. Just looking for feedback and opinions from those who might own half a dozen. Pros and cons of various lengths

With this one I'm looking to do a barrel shorter than handguard and pig or dlask xb1. Final look desired is a fat flash hider barely protruding from handguard. Maybe 10. 5 in a 13 handguard etc

You need a barrel that is 2"-2.5" shorter than the handguard for your desired look. Any more than that and the pig is inside the barrel.
 
Yeah measurement I got was 2.5 inches which would make a pig and a 10.5 work with a 13 in rail. However the aero I was after is discontinued at 13 in and I have a m4e1 upper with integrated piece for handguard so my options are back to the more regular lengths be a 10.5 and a pig in a 12 will put it out quite far. Just batting around options

I'm guessing at max 200-300 yards a 10.5 vs a 16 won't make much difference in accuracy. Bullet drop maybe bc of lower muzzle velocity but I may be over thinking it

I'll fully admit I'm into the look of this build more than anything haha
 
I went with something similar but wanted a bit more of the muzzle device showing so I ended up with this:

DD 10.3" barrel
KMR10
Noveske KX5

Yep it does thanks. I'd be looking to move that pig a bit further back but pretty much look I'm going for within an inch. As long as inside diameter of handdguard allows I think a 12 inch guard in that setup would be exactly what I would want. Trying to find dd barrels is tough. Wolverine has but not in stock
 
Yeah that's what I'm thinking now that the 13 in rail I wanted is gone. The next combo for that look would be 12.5 and 15 hg
