O.K. so i already own a G17 pistol, i am all set to reload this round and i like the price of it too. So no "why not a .45". what is in your opinion the best buy in this category of pistol. Beretta 92FS, H&K USP9, Sig Sauer P226 or other suggestion. I don't like the look of Smith & Wesson M&P and Springfield XD.

In 9mm i would choose HK USP, and if you have some spare money I would go for the USP Custom Sport. They are great guns, reliable and accurate.

I don't like the look of Smith & Wesson M&P

Wow, this shocks me considering you own the ugliest gun on earth:D

I love glock as well, but I still think the M&P looks and shoots better.

I would rather have an ugly gun that is reliable and shoots well. Plus the M&P is cheaper than all others listed by atleast $200

Just my $.02

Having said that since you already own my other suggestion I would probably go with a CZ SP-01 Shadow

You might want to check out the CZ SP01 or Tanfoglio if you have small hands. The others are all great in their own right but having tried most of them the CZ design is hard to beat.

If you don't plan on using it for IPSC or some sort of competition shooting get the one who's look will turn your crank.

Grand Power K100 Mk06. Funky (though reliable) action, smokin' hot trigger reset, great price. What more do you want.
I just bought my 2nd one. Why you ask? Because like beer, one is never enough  .

(E)

I have a USP and a P226. Both are great pistols and I don't think you can get a better 9mm unless you go for something that costs $2000+.

i just went to the store to handle a lot af pistol and i bought an m&p, i know you dont like-em but man these pistols ergonomics are so good, if i ad a second choice (prob will be a next purchase) the cz75 sp01 is also realy nice fitting in my hands.
for the beretta 92, they had a brushed metal one and i really liked the feel of the grip and the looks but the mag release is not well placed ( for me ) i have to shift my grip to get to it ( bye bye fast reloads ) .
hope it helps you
in the end the best for you is to do the same thing, tell your sellsman that you need to handle quite a fiew pistols and you will make up your mind on your own.

but one thing , if you do spend 2 hours in a store please buy it there!

get a 1911 such as a STI in 9mm. I had a Glock and sold it to go the 1911 single stack route. Only things I would have done different is keep the Glock for training classes.
