There's quite a big difference in the feel between a striker fired gun's trigger and the trigger on a hammer fired gun. You may want to see if you can find a way to try out a few options first before you leap.
I was lucky enough to have a commercial rent-a-gun range nearby (DVC) where I was able to rent something north of a dozen different 9mm guns to try before I bought. Pretty quickly I came to the idea that I preferred all metal guns and that I liked the feel of hammer gun triggers. I shot the striker guns fine, I just didn't like the feel of them. But al LOT of folks really like their Glocks, M&P's and other striker guns. But as the old saying goes YMMV. So I suggest that you don't buy blind or you may not end up using it much after the first little while. Instead hold off and work out something to actually try some options first.
And there really isn't much point in asking us what to buy. YOU are the one that will be pulling the trigger and holding it in your hands. So if you're only going to limit yourself to ONE handgun then it should be one that YOU like. It's like finding a favourite meal by asking what other folks like.
On the CZ topic I always see folks recommending the more expensive models over the basic 75. But this isn't fair to the basic gun which is a great gun. It just lacks a few of the features of the others which you likely won't use anyway.
When I tried out the hammer handguns that were available for rent at DVC the two that floated to the top FOR ME were the Beretta 92fs and the Baby Eagle/IWI Jericho. I was just about ready to drop money on a Jericho when someone let me try their tuned up CZ Shadow. Now THAT was a bit of heaven! ! ! ! I ended up going CZ as much for the stock gun's feel and fit in my hands as the knowledge of what it could become with a bit of tuning. But the Jericho was a close runner up for the fit and feel and trigger for a stock out of the box gun.
The Beretta is a nice gun too but it needs big hands to hold it well.
