Fellows,

I'm finally upgrading from a $100 cheapo to a real scope for my M14 and I'm pretty sure I'm getting one of these scopes. I do want some feedback from you guys however. I was sure I was going to buy the Falcon, but then I saw the 5 year warranty and honestly I'm really not impressed it doesn't have unlimited lifetime warranty - it also makes me question the scope a little too. The Millet I don't know that much about, and in regards to warranty as well, I can't find out, even from the Millet site, what they're warranty is. And then there's the whole mailing scopes to and from the USA if I need warranty work done on a Millet.

So, which would be the best spent money?

Millett was purchased by Bushnell a few months ago so right now I wouldn't purchase their scopes just yet. They are doing some minor changes to the Millett scopes and it will take a few months for them to work out kinks and anything that they haven't fixed that should have been done before by Millett.

I think the Falcon scope's are great and so are the Bushnell Elite's

Go on snipercentral's hope page and Mel reviews a bunch of scopes so you can get a more detailed opinion

I read the Sniper Central reviews, they seem to definitely favor the Falcon over the Millet. The 4200 Elites are kind of out of my price range, I've got $500, firm for my scope.

Thanks for the input fellows!

I should be getting my scope tomorrow or Monday. I ordered a 4.5-18x56mm without IR. Many have recommended it to me and said the scope is a very good scope for the price. I haven't used it yet but can't wait! Those who have advised me know their sh*t when it comes to scopes!

I own one of each of the scopes in question - seriously I'd flip a coin - clarity the falcon optics has a TINY edge over millet - yet I find the TRS-1 reticle nicer to use.

If you ran into me at the gun range ten days and asked me which scope I liked best - I honestly don't know what I'd answer - but I bet it'd be different each time - depending on lighting conditions and what chunk of metal I was dinging on the range :p

As above - I own a bushnell 4200 30mm 6-24 tactical also - I think it drops both millet and falcon to second class - but yeah it cost over $500 - maybe watch the EE - they appear there on good deal ONCE in awhile.

How about an Elite 3200 10X? Compact, small bell that will not get in the way of the handguard. Decent optics and superb mechanicals. Dirt cheap.

There is also a 5x15 and 7x21 scopes that will have great features and arguably better glass.

I can also recommend the Nikon Buckmaster 4x14 side focus. I think the glass will beat the millet and FM. Mechanicals on the one I had was superb. Well within your price range too.

Jerry
