I am trying to decide if I am going to buy a Imperial Defence AR or Smith and Wesson M&P15 tonight. The only concern I have so far is quality and if the parts are interchangable. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanx

I really want a 16" carbine. These are the two available to me right now from a dealer as i want to buy new. I do later want to put a quad rail on and optics for sure. The thing I like about the S&W M&P15 is its a heavy barrel and I like to target shoot. Just not sure if it has a rail under the handle to mount optics. The S&W I am looking at right now dosnt have a 6 position stock but I would want to put one on it.

Well I bit the bullet and ordered a S&W M&P15. It has a fixed stock so I also ordered a RRA adjustable 6 position stock to go on it too. I cant wait to get it, next all I need is a nice set of optics for it. Next paycheque I guess. There just seems to be lot or controversy over the Imperial Defense AR's. Any company that makes firearms and I cant find thier web page to get info off of dosnt get my bussiness.

is Imperial defense actually made in the UK?
It's hard to say, they do not implicitly state that they manufacture firearms, only that they are in the arms trade, and that they procure firearms and equipment from "most manufacturers around the world". This suggests that they do not actually make the firearms they sell.

This brings to the question where their M4 patterned rifles come from. I have yet to see concrete proof that their rifles come from any individual country, but rumours have floated around that they source at least some of the products from Norinco.
