Help me decide. First Black rifle.

Kryogen, this is what I posted in response to your original thread when you got to the point where you were trying to decide between the Stag and Norinco:

"Buy the Norinco in 14.5", a dozen Pmags, and 1000 rounds of AE.

Go to M4Carbine.net, and read the sticky on what to check on your rifle prior to shooting.

Shoot the 1000 rounds. Also, try to attend a carbine course, or get some instruction from a suitably qualified person.

Decide what on the rifle doesn't work for you. Upgrade those parts/accessories only. Do not buy anything just because it looks cool or the deltarangerseals use it. If you can, try to use a rifle with the same parts/accessories before purchasing, to decide whether they will do what you want them to.

If you get Black Rifle Disease, and you will, take all the money you have saved, and buy another rifle, and set it up similar to the current one. By this time, you should also have acquired another dozen or two Pmags, a sling that works for you, and maybe an optic of your choice.

You could also just purchase a separate upper, so you have a couple of different purpose rifles (say a carbine and CQB/PDW, or carbine and Recce/SPR/DMR).

For your second AR, you could even decide to build it yourself, to give you a better understanding of the system. You should also begin to acquire some spare parts (Check the stickies on M4C again for this), and these, along with the tools you buy for your build will enable you to diagnose faults and perform preventative maintenance on your rifles (and maybe even your buddies' rifles as well by this stage)."

You now seem to be looking at the NEA as well. I would say that the above would still be my advice, but I would add to it by saying that you are probably not at the stage where you are ready to lay down your cash.

Do some more research, and by that, I don't mean asking for what are essentially (in some cases very uninformed) opinions from complete strangers on the internet. Go to sites like this:

http://www.03designgroup.com/

http://www.m4carbine.net/showthread.php?t=56063

Do some reading, and educate yourself.

Alternatively, you could just send your money to me, Claven, or whoever takes your fancy, and we will buy the rifle we think you should have, and mail it to you.

Of course, this is the internet, it's just my opinion, and it's your money.

Regards.

Mark

My first AR-15 was a Norc 14.5". No issues what so ever. Good luck on your first black rifle. It won't be your last. I have three ARs and counting. My original Norc now sports a low profile gas block, 10.5" floating rail, a Magpul CTR stock plus accessories. I just bought a Norc 10.5" upper to go with my Armalite lower. Your first AR is the beginning to $1000s more in AR products. LOL!
