I'm looking to get a Pellican case for a new purchase but I can't decide or even see what the difference is between the two i'm looking at are the iM3300 Storm Case and the 1750 Protector Case. I can't seem to see the difference between them and I can get a deal from where I work. For me there is only about a 10 dollar price difference in the two. HELP!!! I can see that the storm case appears to have an extra latch on either end, but that is all I can tell.

Yea, I think the 1750 case is going to be the one. It's a little bigger and has the pick and pluck (if that's what it's called) foam, so the rifle can fit surrounded in foam. I've decided on the Savage. Seems as though folks are happy with it.

I dont know why that posted 4 times. Maybe i'll wait untill I can get a measurement on the rifle. I'd like for there to be at least a couple inches of room on either end of it. I'll check out Starlight, see what the prices are like. Who offers them? I can get a pretty good deal on the Pelican cases that's why i'm interested in them.

I have both, and I prefer the latches on the storm case to the latches on the pelican case. The push button latch doesn't open by accident, as I have had happen with the pelican latch. Also the handles are soft rubber coated on the storm case, a small detail but if you are going to drop over $200 on a case..

It looks like you are too long for the storm but the pelican may be ok, really you only need 1/2 - 3/4" inch or so behind the butt of the rifle with more room left for the muzzle. I cut my foam so the rifle is a press fit in the foam, it would take a very serious hit to make the rifle move in my case.

Probably not as durable as the molded ones but I purchased the Plano aluminum case for my "good" rifle. I am especially impressed with the latches , very strong and positive. Not water proof but does the job nicely and looks kinda James Bondish!!

i have both cases the pelican seem a bit more durable, but the storm latches are so much nicer to use. in the cold weather the pelican case is very hard to latch closed. both have great liftime warranty. i would buy the storm over the pelican if i got a new one.

Ok so most seem to like the storm. I wondered about the two different latch systems they use and you all have answered my questions. Thank you. Now I just need to know the legnth of the 110BA from someone who has one so I don't waste my time getting a case if it's not going to fit. The case will see use in a boat, travel on aircraft and range time, so it's important that it is durable and waterproof which they both are. I think I will go for the Storm case so long as the rifle fits. I can get both cases for under $300/ea taxes included so that is why i'd like to stay with the Pellican, again so long as the rifle fits. Thanks all!

There's another thread just up from this one (or just down now) about the Pelican and where to buy it around Calgary. Figure $260 plus tax and shipping.
