Help me decide on a scope for my new Brno Effect in 308

Did you scope it yet?
Another vote for Leupold VX-5HD 3-15×44. Or they have a 2-10 version as well. Bright clear glass excellent in low light.

I was just thinking about that scope yesterday wondering if it might be the goods for the way we hunt here in NS. Not sure that I could wrap my head around that big a scope, if you could even buy such a thing anymore. Not variable enough for most people.

if i compare with the kahles 8x56 that i have the meopta was a tiny one. only problem for us maybe the eye relief but other than that very great scope. take it in reticle 1 or german 4 nothing else. you will thank me.

Still looking for a 3x to 6x power Meopta. For now, it will wear a brand new Japanese-made Bushnell Elite 3500 3-9x50. Bright, simple lines and durable. Still waiting for my base/rings from Slovenia!!

From optics-trade ?

Just arrived in the mail today... 29 days shipping from Slovenia isn't too bad considering Covid-related delays and Holiday volumes.

Zozap makes (made) the factory bases for Brno. All I can say is that I've never owned such a perfectly machined scope base before. Just perfect. It came with equally impressive 30mm rings. Now just waiting for my 1 inch rings to arrive from Tradex.

Does anybody know where I can buy Torx ring screws to replace the Allen head screws??

UPDATE: sourced some quality hardened steel caps head (Hex) fasteners. Good for life now. :)

And today don't I find a Zeiss 8x56mm just sitting there waiting to be bought. In Montana...that's the only problem.

If you can’t find one, a very good compromise is a Leupold 6X42 with a heavy duplex. You will be surprised at how sensible it is when you actually use one, both in the field and in the dark bush.
