Help me decide on my coyote gun.

Hey folks, here's my dilema:

I'm trying to put together a set up for under $600. I've narrowed it down to 2 guns.
1. Stevens 200 .22-250
2. the new savage edge .22-250 which has had great reviews from the range, shooting very accurate.
The savage has a removable clip, and is a bit less.
I'm going to be mounting the same scope to whichever one i get, but as of now i'm kind of leaning towards the savage.

i have a stevens model 200 in 22-250 with a bushnell trophy scope. it took a few rounds but now it shoot 2inch groups at 200 meters. not bad for a gun worth 350 dollars. i plan on putting a boyd stock on it and i will bed it nicly and i hope my groups will get tighter. hope it helps

I'm held an edge this weekend in .22-250. I'm probably going to buy one. The bolt is pretty stiff, but for $319 plus tax I'm going to get one. Its not the prettiest gun but I like the safety and removable mag. I'm hoping they shoot just like a Steven's.
 
DVXdude. I've been reading reviews of the edge in .243. . They had it shooting 5/8-3/4" groups at 100 all day. Hopefully there will be potential in the future to modify it kinda like the Stevens
 
Couple of friends bought the Savage Predator-winter camo model in 22-250. They didnt want to spend alot of money. Impressive shooters to say the least. Shooting the factory Winchetser Varmint package 40 round white box. The only thing they dont like is the sloppy action as they are use to Sako m75 and Tikka T3 rifles.
 
Ya i'm used to the Tikka T3's as well, but i'm not that picky.
I think i'll like the Edge. I'm going to be painting it camo, and possible modifying the stock, should turn out to be a good shooter.

Whatever you decide on, keep it "removable mag". Nothing worse than having a good run and have to stop to fill an internal box. Just slap in a new mag and go!!!
 
I purchased a stevens 200 combo(bushnell 3x-9x scope included) in 22-250. First thing I did was check the rings and mounts to make sure they were tightened properly(they werent) then bore sighted the gun and went out and tested it with factory winchester 45 grain jhp's. Right out of the box with factory ammo it punched 3/4" at 100 yards. I have to say for the price of the gun and scope shipped to my door($429) I am very impressed. Oh and I had a buddy lighten the trigger to 4 pounds, factory setting was very stiff.

Actually i already checked out the ammo, the .22-250 is the same price with the ammo i'm getting. by the time i have to re-barrel this gun, i probably won't have it anymore, so i'm not that worried about barrel life. besides a .22-250 barrel will last longer than me anyways, i don't shoot all that much.
 
A buddy of mine bought an Edge in .243 a few weeks ago. All I could think was oh great heres another cheap bottom of the line rifle . But I was proven wrong, sub 1" groups at 100 . It still feels abit cheap to me but you can`t argue with the accuracy for the money.
