I have nearly sold enough guns etc. to buy my 45 ACP. I have the purchase narrowed down to either a Les Baer Extreme Tactical SS (Stainless Steel and Single Stack) $1,800 U.S. or a Hard Chromed STI Sentinel $2,300. Canadian.
Any thoughts, comments or advice would be welcomed. Also can anyone tell me who the Canadian distributor for Les Baer is. Thanks in advance.

Personally, if I was looking for a top shelf 1911 that I'd wanna keep for a very long time... I'd go with the Les Baer.

No particular reason, as I dont have experience with either gun. It just seems like Les Baer is a cut above the rest... and you'd have something relatively unique.

Why not go with the STI Trojan SS?
This would be my choice also.I am recently getting the Ranger II in 9mm and herd alot of good things about them in 45 also.

I had a Thunder Ranch Special and it was hands down the most accurate, well built and tightest gun I have ever owned, shot and held, period. Les Baer has take the 1911 to the highest possible level in can taken to. I have handles and shot Wilson, STI, Nowlin, and a lot of other custom 1911's all are top of the line, but Les Baer is the leader of that line.

I like STI for double stack frame, but for single stack I'd go for the Les Baer - without hesitation. SS looks good, but carbon steel is the way to go. IMHO
Good luck choosing.

Les Baer, but not the stainless, get the carbon steel, the best 1911 money can buy...
Looks like I'm going for a Custom Premier ll. I am trying to contact the distributor that Drucker named (Roninsports) but they are not answering my E-mails. Their webpage shows the Custom Premier ll on sale for $2,075. If my wife finds out it will be divorce and then I'll have more discretionary funding for guns and this may not be my last purchase.

I have the STI Trojan in blue and love it.

Shoots better than I.

If you order one (mine came from Freedom Ventures - thanks Sean), make sure you get a Lee Undersize Sizing die - match chamber.

go with Premier models,in Steel, either in hard chrome or blue, but my favourite is the 2 tone ( chrome frame/blue slide) now thats a classic and a work of art.

I tried to order a Premier ll from RoninSports. I e-mailed them regarding the special they had on in their web page. Premier ll $2,o75. I wasn't getting a reply so I faxed them, Seven days latter still no reply so I ordered a STI Edge in 45 from Phoenix Range. Wouldn't you know it, next day Ronin is trying to get ahold of me regarding my order. Sh*t.

Weird... they got back to me pretty quick when I inquired about a Monolith Commanche (which btw looks friggggggin awesome and I want one bad).
