haha you looked any way i need to get some more elevation out of my scope bushnell 6-24 x 44 mill dot it is currently not maxed out but close and at a hundred yards i dont think i will have enough adjustment to get to 600 or 1000 so i can try my hand at some long stuff, is the best way to go a 10 or 20 moa rear base or should i use the rings with inserts or both, the rifle is a stevens 243 (yea yea) let me know what you guys are doing.
Thanks shooter177

cheapest solution is to jam some used 35mm film negatives under the scope tube in the rear mount to angle the scope body down. obv can't tighten down the clamps TOO much or you may warp stuff.

I'd say cost it out, and see how much you want to spend. Talk to Mysticprecision. He sells all those parts, and knows a lot about Savage / Stevens long range shooting.

Before you worry about "getting it up," let's back up the bus a little here.
You have a 6-24X44 and you are already maxed out at 100 yards??? Are you sure about that? If you had of said "I'm maxed out at 400 yards," I'd be Ok with it all. Do you have the scope mounted properly??? I seems to think that being maxed out at 100 yards is a bit "premature" (pardon the pun).

i think he's saying that it's zeroed at 100, but might not have enough clicks to play with to zero it for 600 / 1000 yard shots.

At your current zero@100 yards how many clicks up do you have, and how many clicks down do you have? I am guessing 1/4 moa clicks right?
