im deciding between the mossberg 930 SPX and a remington 870 for my ghost ringed pest control and Duck warfare scattergun

i cant decide though. this is where the problem starts ..

the 930 SPX will run me $1450 to my door
the 870 will run me $450 to my door

the price difference is drawing me towards the 870 ,but i know as well as the next guy that choosing something simply because of cost is the quickest way to a resale

can i have your opinions please

wow thats a big jump from the 930 and the 930 SPX! like $900! value for money id go with the 870 on your pics, if the standard 930 was in the mix it would have my vote.

whats the advantage of the SPX over the standard 930?

i have a 20Ga 870 and it seems like a pretty good little grouse cannon. and am now offically waiting for my 930 Waterfowl (from which ive heard is a good gun)

this is New Zealand dollars we are talking. dont think about it on your money cos it wont make sense. and its not an authentic 870 .. its an HP9 . whch i actually prefer over the remington ..

i just say remington because its easier :D

thundergrey: the 930 waterfowl is good.. the SPX has an 18" barrell, LPA rear ghost ring and high vis front post. and a 7 round mag tube .. 7+1 shots

a standard 930 will cost $1000 here

Oic! Kind of. How does that work? So then the HP9 would be like $300CAD? That's not bad at all considering I just paied $399 for my 870. And 8 shells doesn't help us out hunting; we are only allowed 5(+1?) for rabbit and 3(+1?) for the winged critters.

you can't really compare a semi and a pump
i have a 930, and love it, it's a great gun, and when i got it, it was only about $150 or so more than an 870
but everyone knows and love the classic "chic chic" sound of a shot gun.
start pump cause it's cheaper, then work your way up
