I am looking at a 2004 RCBS catalog and I see a single shot rifle that looks like a Browning but it doesn't appear to be a high/low wall. It is a custom type with nice gold gopher inlays.

I am looking to purchase something like this and would like to know what it is.

Yup there are a dozen or more fallingblock guns/actions that look almost like a Win. Highwall, Rem. Hepburn,Stevens 44 1/2, Ballard,Brown,Hauck,Sharps,De Haas, Smith, Hagn, you get the idea.

I found out it is a Martini cadet.

They're nice little rifles:

Mine is a .310 original but I have a spare barrel for it and have thought of having Ron Smith bore it out to .357 Mag. Or get a rimless extractor from Snapp's and rebarrel to .222 Rem.

Why not go .32-20 and save the barrel? Or something bigger like .45 colt or .38-40 or you could just leave it in it's original unaltered state.

32-20 is also a possibility and probably the easiest. 45 Colt might take too much meat out of the barrel, which is why I was thinking of .357 Mag, and loading for the .310 Cadet is a bit of a bother. (I've been on the M-H forum quite a bit since I got the rifle a couple of years ago.)
