Help me... I'm sick

It started with an SKS. Then I met a service rifle shooter. Now I have 3 ARs, 4 pistols, an IUR and countless other things I wanted so bad at the time.

Is there a cure for this hole in my wallet?

That said, you should see my Colt/leupold setup.

Help????

How can we if you don't post a picture?

You are not ill, what you have is investment anxiety.
Some guns bring better investment than others, you just need to set up the level of buying vs selling. Ask yourself a question, when I buy this particular gun, would it be worth the same amount to sell it after you are done with it? Yes? buy it, No? don't.
Bling bling for guns does not usually bring up value as guns themselves do. So spend less on that stuff.

That's a good start... The only "cure" is when you have "enough of them" - it's a different number for everyone. I figure I'll be cured of "wanting..." when I have 100 guns. Seems like a reasonable number to me.

It will take a we you a while before your buying spree levels off. Once you acquire a pile of guns, then you have to outfit them with scopes, mags, and some other accessories. Then you need to have ammo for them all, by this time you've spent a ton of money and are running out of space in the house to keep it all. Its a vicious circle that can spiral out of control quickly.

Yes there is...move to a place where there's no work in the winter. That'll fix you up right quick. As you may have guessed I dream of the good old days when some were calling me the Prohib guy at the local auction because I couldn't resist a good price on a Snubbie...

Any of you get the "how many guns do you have?" at family gatherings? I love the look I use to get when I could look around the room and say truthfully, "3 guns for all present...most 4".

The upside of the affliction is if you get sick of working for some criminal azzwipe and find yourself underemployed you'll find most of your boomsticks will hold there value...five years collecting = five years of winter mortgage payments in my case. It's also given me a much more focused idea of what I enjoy doing on the range. I've switched to Milsurps for the time being, much cheaper to obtain, and still the entertainment value of being able to tinker with them...in some cases must. I really miss my AR though...perhaps it's time for a try at crowd funding...

There is no cure to gun ownership :p

Instead of multiple ARs, I now own multiple uppers and one loaner AR (nork). If I want to buy a gun, one has to get out. I also try to have common calibers:

-9mm
-22lr
-223/5.56
-308Win
-7.62x39
-12ga

Makes it easier for ammo buying and reloading.

Its a lot easier to control the urge to buy when you have kids, I must admit :p

For the record, most of his problems stem from the "wife".
Here endeth the lesson.

It is very tempting to view wife as part of the problem. But don't be mistaken: this is the road to perdition. For your own sake treat her as part of the cure and your life will have colors...And everyone will feel great. Make her feel you really need her input as to which gun to buy next....You can't go cold turkey afterall....Start with the acceptance phase (a-la 10 step process) "hi, my name is [your name here] and I am an addict...."
