Help me my Marlin wants to go to deer camp this year!

Hey,

I have an 1894c in .44 Rem mag. I want to know what you guys are feeding yours??


I have some loaded up with h-110 and Hornady 240 xtp and some with imr 4227 and speer hollowpoints.

I have a bunch of nosler 300 grain sporting handgun bullets as well I have a couple to try out with 20 grains of w296.


Help me!!

w296 and h110 are the same powder, but i assume you knew that?

The only thing with the Marlin and other "rifles" in 44 mag chamber is they are a very slow twist rifling 1/38" as opposed to 1-20" in pistol ! You may be better served accuracy wise to load as a heavy 44-40 !!! That will likely give you better accuracy downrange. Just a little info and YMMV.

My ruger carbine loves the heavy stuff, shoots very very well with 240 grain +!

Yup, but it is funny there's totally different loads for both.
