Help me pick a cartridge

I pick 222, its a bit of a classic and I want one

Bring your wallet to the Kamloops gun show, there are usually several there.
I will have one on my table.

I went with the 6mm-204 - Crazy accurate and bucks the wind better then a 22 cal ! I shot a Rem 40 XB for years in 6 x 47 ( 6mm-222 Mag) Very MUCH the same or Identical i think ! RJ

.222... you said this gun is for "fun..." you have plenty of others to hunt with... you just want to enjoy a nice, accurate round... the .222 is a classic, sweet shooting and it's a laser! It is also a beautiful little case with an elegant neck... your Sako would be a honey in .222. If you go that route, send me a PM and I will get you started with some tested load data.

Classic round, that for years held all the BR records.

Yup .... I vote for the 222 Remington as well for all the reasons mentioned, plus it carries much "Fudd" factor.

Just top it off with a purple Leupold when you're done.

It's not the most exciting of the group, but the .222 has unmatched class, and I just like hand loading it with the long neck. That's my pick.

I am a bit surprised by the way this poll is going. I too am a fan of the 222, in fact I have always had better luck with it than the 223. Plus I already have the reamer..... Hmmm

Out of the list I'd choose the .222 Rem. - but I think the .222 Rem Mag would be a little cooler, and you'd probably have the only one on the block.

I voted 204 because I believe you can never have enough 204s in the safe. I would however go to a 10 or 11 twist if I was doing a rebarrel to take advantage of the slightly heavier bullets available. 2nd choice would be a 222 just because I have always like this round and will always have one or two in the safe.
