I want to take a week to 10 days off (or up to 2 weeks if I just so happen to "get stuck" or something)to hunt away from my area.

I'd like to head west and try for an elk. I was thinking of heading over to GP area... any tips... Win94? LOL

If that area doesn't look promising, I'll keep heading south I guess.

What week should I look at? How 'bout a little help on decent areas to hunt/camp, say from Rocky Mtn House west and north. I'm fairly familiar with the areas south of that. Any specific areas up there (326/328) a fella might even find a legal sheep? All my hunting would be on general tags.

Anybody wanna get together for a coffee/beer/supper over there? Also, anyone I could call for ground support should I get a monster stuck in a horrible spot? How 'bout recommendations for butchers/processors over that way?

Seriously, I need a vacation so bad, I can taste it!

We like the area south of Grand Prairie about 100km south. Wapiti river, Cutbank river, Musereau(sp.) Lake... These are all great areas for elk and whitetail deer, since you don't have a moose tag you're out of luck there but you'll see plenty of them up there. These are all part of WMU 356 and we are there the first full week of November.

We have pulled some monster moose, elk and deer out of these areas so head out there, be prepared, have some fun and you can thank me later!

PS if you need some specific info PM me and I'll get you all set up.

Anywhere south of GP as suggested. Now with GP's population exploding, there is alot more pressure around. Try the forestry trunk road then get off it some where on a trail, or any oilfield/logging road off HWY 40.

For butchers, you can try H & M Meats in GP...they make great jerky.
