Help me pleeeeease, reassembling Ruger Mk1?

Bought this gun on EE, just the gun came, no manual no nothing else. Wanted to give it test drive today so I decided to clean it before taking it to the range. After cleaning it, tried to reassemble it, for 40 min I tried to put back that mechanical unit at the back of the handle and it wouldn't fall back in and than it finnaly it falls back in smoothly. Now I have a problem, bolt is stuck it wont go back all the way but maybe only half an inch.

What is wrong how to dissasseble/reasseble this thing properly?

You are not the first one to not be able to pur the Mark 1 back together without a manual on how to do it.

At a certain point , if I remember from many years ago , you have to turn the gun over the get parts to line up properly.

Dont feel so bad......I did the exact same thing when i took mine apart for the first time!!

Now if they only made a quick loader for the MK1's......
 
Hey CTS, I had a MRK I and my S&W 2206 quick loader worked with it I think HKS makes them they look like a little peice of red plastic but are a definate thumb saver.

:D Congrats!! You have made it pass the Ruger Mark series pistol initiation ritual. It gets easier after a few times. Enjoy your Mk I, they're great pistols....

been there done that :D

I can't remember now if I still have my Ruger MkI it had a 5.5" bull barrel and I never really used it much, I think I traded it for a 9mm :D or was that my ruger single six .22/.22mag I traded hard to keep track sometimes :D
