Help me scope this .17 HMR???

Thinking Leupold, don't want an objective lens more than 40mm.
I was thinking a 6-18 or a VIII 4.5-14.
What do you recommend??

I have a VXIII 4.5-14x40 that was on a 17hmr. Thought it was a good scope for the caliber. Sold the 17, kept the scope and it now resides on a 204, still a good all round varmint scope IMO.

I have a Leupold VXIII 6.5-20X40MM on my .17HMR, very nice glass, clear as hell @200 gophers.

I have the 6-20 x 40 Weaver Grand Slam on my 17 HMR. Optics are nice and clear and works very well. They also offer the 4.5 - 14 x 40...

I have an older Leupold VX II 4-12x40AO on my T-Bolt in 17. Works great, no complaints.
