Bullets will need to be seated deeper in the blr if you are using reloads. Mag length will prevent you from setting the bullet closer to the lands.

But you would have a 270 lever! You could get a 270 wsm in the blr.

Same with the Tikka. depending on the bullet you may not be able to seat near the lands. 130gr SST come to mind.

That's why I have a blr and a t3 in 30-06. One great lever and one great bolt. Best money for guns I have spent!

Looking for opinions on the best rifle I can get for this kind of money??

I was gonna go with a couple cheaper rifles for small vs. big game, but figure I will spend the money on one quality gun and a reloading setup instead.

Open to all suggestions, and at this point leaning towards a Browning BLR if I can find one for that kind of money.

Used for an all around rifle, likely topped with a 2-7 or 3-9.

Light weight is a plus...

And, it shoots the mag full into less than two inches.......at two hundred yds.



Five inches at three hundred.

Well had the Browning out to the range today....

Threw the Bushnell 3200 3-9x40 I had laying around on her for now with some Leupold rings and bases.

Very pleased so far with my initial load testing, even though I only made it out to 50m.

Somewhere around 56 grains of H4831sc with Hornady 140gr Interlocks should be good for MOA accuracy if my 50m groupings tell anything about the rifles accuracy.

Far too windy to really test any loads at 100m and 200m today, but I really like the gun so far.

Ted, I'm in Ontario my friend.....

No spring bear anymore.

Might have to fly up North and pay you a visit up there in God's country.

She will get lots of range time in preparation for the fall though.

She is a dream to shoot and stil not too heavy at all. I will probably put up a review and range report once I get out to 100m and find a load to brag about.
