Hey, I am interested in buying a Ruger M77 Hawkeye All Weather in 30-06 and was doing some research about the stock dimensions. I sent Ruger customer service an e-mail wondering about the drop at comb and drop at heel measurements. They sent me back this photo showing the measurements. To me the 1.73" and 1.39" seem like a lot but I also noticed that its from the top of the Ruger integrated bases. I think this adds a tiny bit considering a normal rifle would be from the top of the receiver right??? I need something that has a little more drop than the Winchester, Browning, Tikka, Sako's normal 0.5", these are too flat for me. What do you guys think?

I strongly suspect that it will fit about the same as all the other generic built commercial choices out there. From a corporate perspective, there is not much to gain by straying too far off the proven path, eh?

You are really going to have to gt your hands on one or more of them and see how they fit.

Unless you have a chart with the same dimensions of the 'other' choices, and can check the dimensions against those, just having the one set of dimensions isn't doing you much good.

Cheers

Need to consider the size of scope and ring height into this as well.

A 4x16x50mm Extreme Tac Space Sniper Recon Scope is going to have to sit a lot higher than a 2x7x28mm or similar that normal people use.

Unless you are using iron sights only, it does not matter... just mount your optic so that it fits for you... with more drop, you can mount your line of sight closer to the bore... which is how I prefer it, but this an insignificant issue compared to fit and comfort.
