Help me zero my A.R.M.S. #40L BUIS...

Hey guys...need some help zeroing my A.R.M.S. #40L BUIS. At what range sould I zero them at? Also, do the two apperatures need to be zeroed independantly, or does zeroing one at the proper range set up the entire sight for the ranges it was intended to be used for? I'd appreciate any help...

Zero at whatever distance you want. The important part is that YOU know where that zero is, and the rough trajectory your bullet is taking on its way there and beyond, so that you can adjust your aim accordingly to various distances.

100 yards is a good distance for me personally. Sometimes I shoot 50, sometimes 200.

Look up trajectory tables for your ammo.

Edit: the apertures are physically connected and zero together

40L small aperture is set to 300m and large is for 100m. The aperture holes are not aligned on the 40L and confuse alot of people. So zero the small aperture for poa poi at 25m, which will be roughly the same at 300m.

This is exactly how I run my sights, zero at 25m.

If you zero at 25m (27yd) your bullet isn't back to zero until 350-375 yards, and during that travel it has climbed 10" at the peak of its arc around 200 yards.

A 50 yard zero, to me, behaves far better out to 250 yards.

What a terrific graphic. looks like for general utility, a 50 yard zero with the large aperture is about right. That would make the little one about right for 400 yards.
