The trigger on my Colt is ~4lb initially, on the reset it is about ~1lb. (as measured with my RCBS spring type gauge) This has lead to a few unintentional double-taps at the range. I don't mind the 12oz trigger on my bolt guns, but this gun isn't used for slow deliberate shots. Is this normal? If not, what needs to be done to correct it?

I bought the gun used and don't know what if anything was done to the trigger.

Suggestion?

Thx.

Few possibilities here ... you really need to take your gun to someone who knows ARs well.

Could be a simple thing like trimmed or improper spring installation. Springs are easy and cheap to replace or a more serious issue like someone having filed the sear and hammer engagements.

Trade you my CQ311!!:D

Except the scope of course.

Bring it Tuesday, and we can have a look. Just need the bottom end.

Hope you cleaned it after Friday's session!!

dont mess with it - a nice target trigger - but if you have to - bend the spring arms to a greater angle - the hammer spring and trigger spring - put a cloth in your pliers so you dont scratch the springs -

This thread better not be followed up with : Help my AR is too accurate. Or someone will be getting a :kickInTheNuts:

All joking aside 1 lb is too light for a service rifle. I'd get it looked at or only use the lower with a target upper.
