Help my daughter find a light handy lever!

I think a short barreled trapper 94 in 30-30 would be perfect. Put on a recoil pad and you're good to go. Both my daughters started on a similar rifle. Also with 30-30 she can buy ammo at any canadian tire, CO OP or small town hardware store. Maybe not so easy with the 45LC
 
Either .45 Colt or .44 Magnum would work well as a short range big game rifle. Don't forget that .45 Colt ballistics can be considerably improved from factory ballistics in a strong action like an M92 rifle. I wouldn't bother with .454 Casull; recoil will be much heavier and .45 Colt brass is easier to find.
