Help my sks stopped firing

Well the gunsmith here in Mission says sks's have numerous issues with the trigger and firing pin. He is going to give me a trigger job with wolf spring kit and polish up the sear etc. He says it will work perfectly when he is done.
Will adjust to a 3lb trigger pull.

Seems like a better idea then try to get a replacement with possible other problems. I would have gotten a trigger job anyways.

But I have sent an email to Lever Arms seeing what they will do for me.
I remember seeing a sign at lever that said no returns anyways.

Which one in the picture is the sear disconnect bar? #6 0r #9?

I may get the wolf spring kit for it and have a gunsmith here in Mission do it for me, and polish out the sear at the same time.

I had the same problem with my SVT-40.
It is a to short disconnector issue.(specially with refurb rifles)
It will be part #6 on previous diagram.
When you get new one,you will probably need to file it down to work with your trigger group. They are usually comes over-sized to be fit with each rifle.

Thanks for the help.

When you say file it down, you mean at the top where it sticks through under the bolt?

Personally I would take the rifle back and get a replacement. You shouldn't have to be messing around with the trigger group in a rifle you just bought..cheers

Ron,
You can bring the rifle in for us to look at.If it is a simple fix,we will do it for you.
However, all surplus arms and ammunition are sold with no warranty,no guarantee and no exchange/refund.
Usually early problems with surplus arms can be solved by thorough cleaning.
Best Regards.
