Hey fellas I need a new bolt for a CSA VZ 58 in 5.56 NATO , ASAP Mine has a big crack to the rear of where the locking lug engages and is no longer safe to fire. I have sent pics and e mail to the guys at North Sylva but thought I would try here seeing as there are lots of these carbines floating around. And if anyone has one to spare, many thanks Dirtdiver1

You will be holding out for awhile. I had my VZ58 Bolt break 2 weeks after buying from Al Flats. Put 300-350 rounds through it and it broke while shooting at Silverdale. I contacted Dan Brown at Czechpoint USA and he was very helpful unlike our Canadian counter parts. He even was e-mailing me back at 7pm.. good luck getting a hold of NS after 5pm. Hard when we work as well and cannot always deal with these things during the day. I spoke to Rob in Warranty at North Sylva May 10, 2013 and all he said was they were on back order. He never asked for the part to be sent, nor the rifle, did not even check the serial number and just told me to keep calling back. Because we have nothing better to do than chase after a bolt 2 weeks after buying the firearm. Fortunately I am now told George has taken over for him. George at least asked me for the serial and a pic, which I sent over right away, May 27, 2013. Seems they are too busy to care about fixing a less than solid product, as I have not heard back as of yet. It is unfortunate, as I love the rifle and it shoots great when working. I have my fingers crossed someone pays attention to my problem soon, as I am on the verge of just returning it and going with something else. I did not spend $875 + tax to not shoot a rifle. I will keep you posted as to when if ever this gets resolved and if I turn it back in.
NS is dealing with my bolt issue, in the process I contacted CSA directly and it seems that the cracked bolt is not un common in the 19 inch barreled rifles in 5.56. Apparently it has something to do with the pressure of the round when fired, they are supposedly re designing a NEW bolt for this rifle sometime in July release date. CSA told me that if NS warranties it and it fails again that it would be replaced with the new bolt group. It is good that it is being dealt with but in my eyes the flaws that have happened with this style of rifle based on a proven military design would not experience this many failure's, It's as if when they designed it to fire the 5.56 cartridge they made it work but did not make it not fail. which is what one wants in a potential service rifle, little to no failures lets hope the new parts fix this on going problem. These werent made as service rifles, the CZ's are service rifles. Tjese are sporter rifles that the design was based on a complete ly different cal, not saying that it shouldnt work right from the get go but it seems problems are arising with only this calibered version and not the ones it was originally designed for
I realize that they were not designed as " service" rifles however if the gun does not go bang it is a poor club in any case no mater the the design. And the designation of " sporter is in my eyes is just to be politically correct to appease the higher sheeple who " pass " our beloved laws we all enjoy. My point is that what ever purpose this particular design was meant to fill or not it seems that it was rushed to the market to please the masses and not tested to the point of failure as was the orgional CZ design of the 858, so when they changed the caliber the mfg should have tested to that failure point to expose all the short commings of the design. Don't get me wrong I love the design of the rifle it just needed stronger materials I never bought this rifle with the intent of it being a plinker or safe queen it is a shooter and there for should perform as such. And if these problems are not correctable I will source a 7.62x39 version because of the rifle design and ergornomics and a simple feild maintainable operating system. These are my thoughts and please don't get your feathers ruffled for my direct approach, thanks Dirtdiver1
point taken and as you said it should go bang right outta the box, it should have also been tested to the fullest amount possible before it was sold to the masses that is why I chose to stay away fropm the 223 cal version for now, CSA does not seem up to par to what it should be.

That would be most complicated, since CSA is, after all, ''Czech'' Small Arms.
