HELP NEEDED 11mm dovetail on Anschutz 54 Action

I don't think anybody here is going to be saying that is pretty... If it is solid and functional for you, well, have at it and enjoy!

It is , but considering minimal recoil, a relaxed natural head position is preferable to crawling the stock with minimum hgt rings. Also,kind of tough to argue with the scores this fellow shoots. Looks like he's using a set of Marvelous Marvin's rings and on a high power gun.
 
If you think the height is odd you should check out how David Tubb mounts a scope on his silhouette rifle. Not just high but offset as well. Don't discount this, Tubb (I think) has won more NATIONAL titles than anyone else.

Although , offset scope mounting was banned from Silo shooting by the NRA in the early 90s. Tubb shoots mainly Cross-the-Course high power matches now - his reasoning for developing the 6XC cartridge.
