Help needed interrupting incremental load test

Colour coding the bullets with permanent markers helps too. The ink rubs off on the paper and makes it easier to identify which hole belongs to what shot.

No need to be embarrassed, just some needed info. The fact that it is a double barreled rifle (yes I know one is a shotgun barrel) puts it in a whole different class of problem solving. Again, as a hunting firearm it will probably be great. As a target gun, forget it.
 
Looking at your target I will echo what others have said and look in the area of load 6 and 7. Rifle considered and assuming your technique was mildly consistent, you have minimal vertical dispersion around load 3+4, then again around load 6+7. If you had some wind blowing that could explain some of the horizontal spread, and I'm assuming this is the case.

Pudelpointer's steps 1-7 are great tips. I have a thin barrelled aught-six and when I developed a load for it I not only brought a lunch, but a thermos of coffee and another rifle to shoot waiting for the barrel to cool between shots. Substitute any of the above for step 4.
